About: Doree Anderson & LouiseAnderson
I did not start out as a writer; I worked as a secretary, a receptionist, a CNA, and a Telemetry Tech and I enjoyed every one of my jobs. Then, ready to change my life with retirement, I went in a different direction. Writing. Novellas, novels, short stories, and flash fiction. I began studying. You can't simply write a novel and the world will fall in love with it. Even Stephanie Meyers didn't sell her first novel, or Stephen King.
After asking myself if I had what it takes, and was I creative enough to write something I was good at, I took a reporting job for a newspaper. Hello. There are so many things to learn. The first is to join a writing club, then another and ... The more clubs, the more the rules and regulations for submission soar. Talk about learning a zillion things like... Write the book but you're not done. You need an editor, oh not one, but three. One critique, a line editor, and then an editor to give it the final okay. (Each edit will be done at a price.) Now write the submission, a query letter. This is pray that the agent will represent you and that another editor will pick it to print.
In today's society, we have turned to a less expensive approach and so a lot of books that would have never reached their readers, are now on the market. I am not only a writer but an author working full-time. Instead of just reading the romances, mysteries, and suspenses, I enjoy; now it's my imagination behind them. And, I always end with a Happy Ever After.
